VSEC spends thousands of dollars every year to provide free and discounted care to abandoned or homeless pets through rescue organizations and to pets whose owners may be experiencing a financial crisis through the VSEC Lend-a-Paw Foundation. In partnership with Frankie’s Friends, a national charitable pet foundation, The VSEC Lend-a-Paw foundation offers assistance to families in financial distress. 100% of every dollar donated to the VSEC Lend-a-Paw Foundation is used to treat sick or injured animals.
HOW THE FUNDS ARE USED
- VSEC Lend-a-Paw Foundation’s donated funds are available for patients being treated at all VSEC hospitals whose family is unable to afford all of the care needed.
- Funding recipients must have a diagnosis, treatment plan and estimate from VSEC and demonstrate that all other payment options have been exhausted including: personal finances (credit cards and care credit), donations from family and friends & additional fundraising efforts.
- Frankie’s Friends does not fund primary care, preventative care, vaccinations, diagnostic testing, or treatment of chronic diseases or medications to support lifelong ailments. Funds are used specifically for the treatment of life threatening conditions.
